Pottery West
Based in Sheffield, Pottery West is the studio name for ceramicists and designers Catherine and Matt West.
Catherine and Matt make their functional ceramics in the traditional wheel-thrown way. They use minimal tools to create simple utility forms; mixing oxides and raw materials to create their glazes.
They both agree that the process of making wheel-thrown tableware is slow-paced and repetitive and that they’re able to find a sense of space and calm. A calm that is easily visible in their work.
