A ‘New Fashioned’ Wine Tasting

This is the first of our workshops for 2023 AND it’s the first time we have held a wine tasting at Simple Shape. Two reasons to be excited! If you like the sound of an evening that is relaxed, interesting, fun, informative and delicious, where you will have the chance to taste 5 different ‘New Fashioned’ wines, this is for you. You’re welcome to come solo but this would also be fun with a friend or even a small group of friends.

The wine tasting will be led by Steph DiCamillo owner of local South East London wine shop, Wine&Such. Steph has spent her working life in the hospitality trade working in bars in Manhattan and London and has amassed a wealth of knowledge about grapes, vineyards and domaines, depth, balance and bouquets. She is absolutely passionate about her subject.

Have you ever looked past a wine because the label wasn’t cool enough or you thought the region was a bit dull? Or maybe you have decided that a grape variety is boring because once-upon-a-time you had a bad glass? Well, this wine tasting will dispel your old hang-ups. Come and discover that old is indeed new again. 

THE WINE…

Steph is keeping the line-up secret, but you will taste 5 different wines from different regions and different grapes. There will be some classic wines, some classically styled wines from lesser known regions, classic grapes made using new school methods, and wines that are going back to the origins and abandoning new fangled techniques.
